What homeschooling can look like...

Homeschooling can feel like a massive responsibility, but you don’t need to take on the weight of making it feel like school too. School systems today are designed to teach massive amounts of children - they do not have the resources to teach each child in the special way they learn. Who does have those resources? You do, of course. Homeschool doesn’t have to, dare I say, should not look like school. It can be much more relaxed, much more calm, much more focused on play, much more centered around the rhythm of the seasons and how we flow with them. And especially, it can take the time it needs to investigate and discover the unique way your children learn and harness that to help them discover and cherish the wonder of learning. Wondering some ways to do this?

✨Take it slow. You don’t need to compare yourself and what you’re teaching to what children in school may be learning.

✨Take every chance you can to get outside and explore nature. There are infinite lessons to be learned from the earth.

✨Use play as much as you can. For younger children, play is all the learning they need. As they grow, creating lessons through play makes learning more tangible and understandable.

✨Remember, you are learning as much as you’re teaching. Give yourself grace and time. Children see this in us, and it’s an important lesson itself.

✨Find a community. Other homeschoolers are the greatest asset to find your way. Need help with this ask away and we will do our best to answer and find a group that may fit for you. If you’re already part of any local groups, why not leave a comment so others can find you? 💛
